Bibi Terms of Use and Community Guidelines

By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Bibi.

1. Who can use Bibi

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must provide a real name and, if asked, a real photo of yourself. Impersonation is not allowed.
• One account per person. Accounts are personal and may not be sold or shared.

2. What Bibi is

Bibi connects students for scheduled, time-limited video conversations to practise English. Matching is not anonymous: both participants see each other's profile before and during the call and can rate, like, block or report each other afterwards.

3. Community guidelines (objectionable content)

The following is prohibited and will lead to removal of content, suspension or permanent ban:

• Nudity, sexual content, sexual solicitation or any sexual behaviour on camera or in chat.
• Harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or nationality.
• Violence, self-harm content, or promotion of illegal activity.
• Spam, advertising, scams, requests for money or personal financial information.
• Sharing other people's private information without consent.
• Recording or screenshotting a conversation without the other person's consent.
• Any attempt to contact minors or content involving minors.

4. Safety tools

• Block: you can block any user at any time; you will never be matched with them again.
• Report: you can report a user during or after a call, about a conversation you actually had with them. Accounts reported by several different users are automatically placed **under review** — they cannot be matched with anyone while we look into it. A report that someone is under 18 puts the account under review straight away.
• Suspension: only a person on our team turns a review into a suspension. If your account is suspended and you believe that is a mistake, write to hello@bibitalk.com and we will look at it again.
• Chat messages are filtered for offensive language and for attempts to move the conversation to another platform. Repeatedly triggering the filter during a call ends that call.
• Contact us at hello@bibitalk.com. We review reports as quickly as we can, normally within 24 hours.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos and text you upload. You grant us a licence to display them within the service. You are responsible for what you say and show during calls.

6. Points and ratings

Points, streaks, ratings and leaderboard positions are virtual, have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold or transferred, and may be adjusted or reset by us at any time (for example to correct abuse).

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without notice where necessary to protect other users.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is". Conversations are between users; we are not responsible for the conduct of other users. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. Material changes will be announced in the app.
